The Haftorah Project
The new Mordechai Rosenstein Haftorah Scroll fundraising program provides a wonderful, exciting, innovative, educational and economically feasible way to help synagogues achieve their fundraising objectives year-round.
Blending the prophetic versus contained in the 80 Haftorot with the glow, rhythm and captivating color of renowned Jewish artist Mordechai Rosenstein, this fundraising mechanism has been inspired and designed exclusively for synagogues.
Not only is this proven fundraising approach simplistic and unique, it also contains a learning and
teaching component. It brings the study and beauty of the Haftorah to the forefront as an informative, educational experience for members, young and old, to enjoy.
Synagogues may sell the individual portions on a year-round basis, including Holidays and Shabbat. Congregants will be afforded an opportunity to sponsor one of these selected portions as commemorations of special occasions and celebrations, including Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, births, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, dedications and/or memorials.
It will be up to the congregations to structure an individual financial schedule for each form of commemoration or dedication. This program has not only been designed for total flexibility to meet a congregation’s individual fundraising requirements, but has been carefully structured to provide unlimited ongoing fundraising opportunities.
We estimate that the profit for your synagogue can easily be between $100,000 and $200,000. Each Haftorah portion can be dedicated by families or individuals who identify with one of the portions. These portions can be “sold” using a formula which we have devised which will help you maximize the profit for your congregation. Each portion can be dedicated for $1,000, with some exceptions, and each portion can be sold more than once. A full list of parshiot is also available.
The cost for this project is $15,000 for a giclee (reproduction) printed on synthetic parchment. The project can begin with your down payment of $5,000 for the giclee. Etzim are not included. They can be provided at a nominal cost. Torah mantles for the scroll, hand painted on silk by Mordechai, can be provided for $3,100.
We look forward to building something beautiful together!
